Fräulein Fiona for Dinner, Friday 27 Jan 2012

The first dinner for the year 2012 (Year of the Water Dragon, by the way) is going to be for real foodies, people who like something different, food that is cooked with love and affection by a former michelin-starred cook... and yet dining here won't break the bank. In case you are now curious, the story is that Thomas Eisele used to be a star cook but always dreamt of his own restaurant and eventually when he did open his own place, he dedicated it to his partner, naming it Fräulein Fiona. So one must assume that he will be cooking his best every night for his dear beloved Fiona and he does do very interesting menus which are really affordable - for example, 4 courses would only set you back 35 Euro! This is from a star cook, don't forget.

Anyway, the address for Fräulein Fiona is Fritschestraße 48, just off Kantstrasse near Wilmerdorfer Strasse U-Bahn and the place is pretty new with no website yet but they do have a facebook page on https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fräulein-Fiona/109792425778267

If you are interested in coming along, firstly, forgive the very short notice for the dinner in on this FRIDAY, 27 January and secondly, please send your booking emails directly to sylvia@berlindinnerclub.com. I will reply to you directly with details of the meeting point and such stuff. The closing date is Wed 25 January so please get cracking with your emails now, if you want to come along (and I don't see why you wouldn't)!

How it went on the night...

Overall, it was a pretty successful first dinner of 2012. The restaurant looked and felt like a very comfortable and convivial sitting room. Everyone had a 3-course menu  and the kitchen regaled us with some rather nice amuse bouches - some lovely fresh bread with a couple of interesting dips and a vegetable soup with a sprinkling of salmon.

We were attended the whole evening by the lovely Fiona herself and she was really wonderful, and we all really enjoyed the dinner and the whole evening. We had some very good laughs about Kerstin's former hobbies and stories about Andreas' former  schoolfriend. To understand this, you have to join us for a similiar evening! :o)

We would highly recommend this cosy, friendly restaurant to anyone who likes good dining at very, very reasonable prices, and we would all like to thank Fiona and Thomas for a great evening!
