March Lebanese Cellar Dinner, Friday, 10th March 2006

Do Lebanese people eat in their cellars? Well, I don't really know but we will find out ourselves what it feels like!

For the March Dinner Club event, we will be doing an original Lebanese feast in a cellar on the evening of Friday, 10th March 2006, hosted in a private location. It has been described to me as a true Middle Eastern feast, with loads of dips, meat, fish, Lebanese bread, couscous, Middle Eastern cheeses, etc, etc. What makes this evening even more special is that it is a yet another special eat-and-drink-all-you-can event, with the drink being nothing less than quality New World wines supplied by our old pal, Brad Mitton of Mitton International Wines (www.mittonwines.com).

And we have also invited a very talented jazz/blues guitarist, Jules, to perform on the evening, so we will have some in-house entertainment on top of the Lebanese food and wines. Jules is a really talented dude and he can do requests as well, if you want to do a singalong (with Kirstin)! And if that's not enough, the Oxymoron, b-flat and Sophienclub are just around the corner if you are still able to walk afterwards! :o)

As this is a PRIVATE event, it is restricted only to members of the Dinner Club and their partners. For the whole evening, there is a ridiculously low fixed charge of 22 Euro per person. This will cover all the food you can eat, all the quality wine you can drink, and the live entertainment, so I don't think you will get a deal like this anywhere else. But two things should be noted: (i) if you do sign up and you don't show up, you will still have to pay the 22 Euro fee as it is a fixed price deal for the whole group, and (ii) the event is on only if 25-30 people sign up. Not less than 25 but not more than 30 people as the space is quite limited. The location is in Oranienburgerstrasse 87, in the hinterhof, so it quite convenient for public transport.

So, I guess you all know what to do next. As mentioned, places are limited so please send an email asap to me at chris@berlindinnerclub.com if you want to come along to the March Lebanese feast, accompanied by quality New World wines with a few bars of jazz/blues guitar mixed in. A cool unusual event like this can happen only in Berlin, so don't miss it! :o)

See you soon!

Chris

How it went on the night...

Despite the wet snowy weather and a few people not turning up due to being stuck on planes or due to the flu, it was a pretty happy night, especially for the new members of the club. Food was pretty tasty and plentiful, the bottles of wine were gushing forth and experts like Anne was in a sort of heavenly funk doing wine tasting most of the night. The music was described to me as inspirational. Overall, it was a very good night out. Even jiggling like a spastic afterwards in the Sophienclub until the early hours of the morning did not faze me too much!
