Late October Dinner at Nu, Friday 2 November 2007

The October dinner is quite interesting, I hope, and not only because it's going to be actually held in November! :o) I am sorry but I have quite a few things to do for work and also a few dinner ideas that I had thought of did not work out in time. And I have to be back in the UK that weekend so the only night I can arrange the dinner is on a Friday evening, else I will have to miss another dinner night. I hope that's OK with everyone.

Anyway, for October's late dinner, we will be going to one of the coolest Asian restaurants I know in Berlin. The place has colour-changing walls and simple benches where people can perch over their 1 kg of fried tiger prawns and stuff like that. As Asian restaurants go, it is not the cheapest place around, but the good news is that you can order large or small portions, so it's a little more economical if you want to try a few dishes. The food is actually quite good, from what I remember, and it's definitely a place where one would take friends there for a visit or two.

The place is simply called Nu and it is on Schlüterstraße 55, in Charlottenberg. If you want more details and a close look at the menu (I recommend page 8 for the 1 kg of tiger prawns!), the website is http://www.nu-eat.de/

Once again, October's dinner is on FRIDAY (not Saturday), 2 November 2007. The closing date for people to sign up for the dinner is 25 October 2007, and all the lucky people who make it onto the list will be informed by 29 October latest. Oh, just to let you know also, there are not too many places available on the table, around 12 max, so please let me know as soon as possible, ok? The email address, as usual, is chris@berlindinnerclub.com.

See you soon!

Chris

How it went on the night...

A few people considered renting wheelchairs to go home but generally we all managed to walk out on our feet. Generally. Food was good and copious, service was pretty efficient as well, especially seeing how packed the place was. Every seat on every table was taken, if you can imagine it! Overall, it was a pretty cool fun night out, though ending up at a beach bar after the dinner was perhaps a bridge too far for me. Oh well...
